Mu Cang Chai -Yen Bai

Mu Cang Chai is a beautiful rural district in the northern mountains of Vietnam. With its rolling green hills, terraced rice fields, and scenic vistas, it’s easy to see why Mu Cang Chai is becoming a popular destination for anyone who desires a tranquil ambiance after rough days.

The terraced rice fields are stunning in September and October, when the rice plants turn a vibrant golden colour. It’s fantastic to see the intricate layers of rice paddies cascading down the steep hillsides!

One of the best ways to experience Mu Cang Chai is to go on a trek. There’re lots of hiking trails that wind through tiny villages, forests, and rice terraces. The landscapes look like something out of a painting! Trekking guides can arrange homestays with local families, which allows you to get an authentic glimpse into their daily lives.

Koh Ker – Preah Vihear

Nestled in northern Cambodia, Koh Ker is definitely worth a visit as a part of the Vietnam and Cambodia tour. Formerly known as Chok Gargyar, Koh Ker was briefly the capital of the Khmer Empire in the 10th century.

The main attraction in Koh Ker is the Pyramid Temple, a massive structure that’s the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. You can climb to the top of the pyramid for stunning views of the surrounding jungle.

Aside from its temples, Koh Ker is also home to a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, gibbons, and snakes. Visitors can also go trekking in the jungle or take a boat trip on the nearby Prek Svay Chek River.

Angkor Wat – Angkor

Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world. Located about 6 km from Siem Reap, the complex extends over 162.6 hectares and is surrounded by a deep and wide moat.

Angkor Wat is a masterpiece of Khmer architecture and a testament to the power and wealth of the Khmer Empire. The temple complex is designed to represent Mount Meru, the home of the gods in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. The central sanctuary is the tallest structure, surrounded by a series of galleries and enclosures.

Angkor Wat is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Cambodia. You can explore the temple complex on foot, by bicycle, or by tuk-tuk. The best time to visit Angkor Wat is from November to April, when the weather is mild and sunny.

Tonle Sap Lake

Nestled in central Cambodia, Tonle Sap Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. The lake is fed by the Mekong River and the Tonle Sap River. During the rainy season, the Tonle Sap River reverses its flow and flows back into the lake, causing it to swell in size.

The Tonle Sap Lake is also home to a floating village. The village is made up of houses that are built on stilts so that they can float on the water. The villagers here live a traditional way of life, and they’re very friendly to visitors.

The best time to visit is when the lake is at its largest from August to October, providing amazing opportunities for birdwatching. An encounter with the fascinating Tonle Sap will offer you insight into Cambodia’s natural wonders and culture.

Besides my unlimited passion for traveling, a professional tour guide for over a decade, I have been taking photographs since sitting at Hanoi of the University of Culture in the early 2000s. Photography started as a hobby but it was seriously taken due to my work relations and my significant passion for the beauty of our world, especially in Southeast Asian parts such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Within a few years of taking photographs, my works began to be recognized by many reliable international publications such as AFAR Travel, The Times, and The Daily Telegraph newspaper. In addition, I continuously add to my growing profile by winning numerous major awards: 3rd Position of The Independent Photographer 2018, 1st Position of Amateur Photographer of the year 2018, Grand Prize Winner of the AFAR Travel Photography 2019, and a Gold Award of San Francisco Bay International Photography 2020.

I photograph a wide variety of subjects, from travel to landscapes to street scenes. I enjoy documenting the East’s rich cultural heritage and its land soaked in glorious sunrise or sunset light in remote and secluded spots. And, I am very happy to share my knowledge and experience with you. You can visit Luminousvietnamtour to explore tour!
