A rather small Hindu temple built by King Suryavarman II around 1120 – 1150 AD is Chau Say Tevoda. Inside this temple, there is a central shrine, two libraries and four gopuras located in the 4 directions of East – West – South – North.

There is a plan and plan similar to Chau Say Tevoda in Thommanon temple in the north. Through centuries of wars, weather conditions and neglect, the temple is often in poor condition. Chau Say Tevoda Temple began to be restored in 2000 and was completed around 2009. The renovation will have new parts replacing the old part and not with the original art. Later, King Jayavarman V rebuilt these buildings with stone. The carved images in North Khleangs are well preserved.

The word “Khleang” translates to “warehouse” but the truth is that they are not used for this. People hardly know what the function of these buildings is. The inscriptions, however, may indicate that they were used as accommodation for visiting guests or ceremonies.

The bridge area at the back and west sides of Phimeanakas temple is the easiest place to climb to the top of the temple. 21. Preah Vihear Temple

One of Ankor’s most remote temples is Preah Vihear Temple. Visitors will have to travel more than 100km northeast of Angkor to get there close to the Thai border. Preah Vihear Temple was formed in the early 11th century and is also known as Prasat Phra Viharn. 22. Srah Srang

The Srah Srang site is also a small Baray ancient reservoir but has a picturesque setting. Srah Srang is located on the east side of Banteay Kdei Temple. In the dry season, the water level recedes lower. Remnants of a Mebon or temple may appear. Visitors can see them usually just sticking out of the water in the middle of the lake. The site of Srah Srang was originally used as an alternative to Angkor Wat and is usually much less crowded.

23. Ta Keo

Another large temple-mountain combination project built with massive sandstone is Ta Keo. This place was built by three different kings, Jayaviravarman, Suryavarman I and Jayavarman V.
