The Golden Bridge is arguably one of the most famous features of the Ba Na Hills entertainment and resort complex in Da Nang. Two moss-wreathed stone hands (actually made out of fiberglass and wire mesh) rise out of the hillside to lift up a shining bridge, from which visitors can enjoy a stunning bird’s eye view of the region.

The story of Vietnam’s Golden Bridge

The 148.6m long and 12.8m wide bridge links the Marseille and Bordeaux cable car stations, taking visitors from the French Village to the dreamlike Le Jardin d’Amour (The Garden of Love). It sits at an impressive altitude of 1414m above sea level. The guardrails were made from stainless steel and painted golden. According to chief architect Vu Viet Anh, founder of TA Landscape Architecture, the bridge’s design was designed to evoke “the hands of gods pulling a thread of gold from the earth”, and that walking on the bridge “is like strolling through midair in a fog-wreathed land of fairies”. Vibrantly blue and purple mealy sage blooms on either side of the bridge as a transition into the incoming floral space.

The story of Vietnam's Golden Bridge

What makes Golden Bridge unique

The bridge was an ambitious and challenging project. The steep and forested hillside impeded construction with its limited accessibility. Ensuring that the hands were strong enough to lift the bridge was a headache. However, human ingenuity and hard work triumphed. The work took a year, and in 2018 the bridge was open for visitors. Since then, far from being a little-known local treasure, the Golden Bridge has been praised by international media. The Guardian put it on the top of a list of the most striking pedestrian bridges. The Daily Mail named it one of the new wonders of the world. Its spectacular, surreal beauty inspired the bridge leading into Dream’s domain in the Netflix series The Sandman.

Besides my unlimited passion for traveling, a professional tour guide for over a decade, I have been taking photographs since sitting at Hanoi of the University of Culture in the early 2000s. Photography started as a hobby but it was seriously taken due to my work relations and my significant passion for the beauty of our world, especially in Southeast Asian parts such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Within a few years of taking photographs, my works began to be recognized by many reliable international publications such as AFAR Travel, The Times, and The Daily Telegraph newspaper. In addition, I continuously add to my growing profile by winning numerous major awards: 3rd Position of The Independent Photographer 2018, 1st Position of Amateur Photographer of the year 2018, Grand Prize Winner of the AFAR Travel Photography 2019, and a Gold Award of San Francisco Bay International Photography 2020.

I photograph a wide variety of subjects, from travel to landscapes to street scenes. I enjoy documenting the East’s rich cultural heritage and its land soaked in glorious sunrise or sunset light in remote and secluded spots.
