Trekking through tribal villages in Sapa

Read more:

A journey through the villages of Sapa is more than just a chance to immerse yourself in nature. It’s an opportunity to broaden your horizons, learn about a different way of living far away from the rat race, and an invitation to partake in the culture, art, and cuisine of diverse ethnic groups.

The villages in Sapa are beautiful around the years with different looks in terms of weathers and seasonal terrance fields. However, if you could make it to the region in August, September and October, you will see the most wonderful look of Lao Chai and Ta Van villages. In this time, the entire area dons a golden cape, as rice on the terraced fields is ready for harvest.
The trek starts from Sapa centre, go passing many massive rice terrence with a background of spectacular mountain magically covered by fogs. On our way to Ta Van villages, we will pass Lao Chai which is a place with a breathtaking mountain view and famous Sapa ancient rocks. The hikes also offers us an oppotunity to stay at a local H’Mong family who speaks English better than their Vietnamese.

The narrow rock trail winding through Cat Cat village will guide you through a microcosm of the lives of local people. In exhibits, artisans can be found hard at work weaving fabric and crafting jewelry. You can bring home souvenirs, as well as photos and videos of traditional dance performances by H’Mong artists near the Muong Hoa stream and waterfall, as mementoes for your fantastic experience.

Hoang Lien National Park is a must-see for nature. The weather here is uniquely mercurial - you can even experience four seasons in a single day! This incredibly biodiverse region is home to many of Vietnam’s rare, indigenous flora and fauna. The apex of the trip can be found at the top of Fansipan Peak, the “roof of Indochina”. It’s reachable after 20 minutes in a cable car or 2 to 3 days of hiking. From there, you can breathe in the crisp, pure air, and watch fluffy white clouds dance in a pristine, endless azure sky.

Specialties: Culture, landscape, portrait, hiking, active and adventurous tour

Besides my unlimited passion for traveling, a professional tour guide for over a decade, I have been taking photographs since sitting at Hanoi of the University of Culture in the early 2000s. Photography started as a hobby but it was seriously taken due to my work relations and my significant passion for the beauty of our world, especially in Southeast Asian parts such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Within a few years of taking photographs, my works began to be recognized by many reliable international publications such as AFAR Travel, The Times, and The Daily Telegraph newspaper. In addition, I continuously add to my growing profile by winning numerous major awards: 3rd Position of The Independent Photographer 2018, 1st Position of Amateur Photographer of the year 2018, Grand Prize Winner of the AFAR Travel Photography 2019, and a Gold Award of San Francisco Bay International Photography 2020.

I photograph a wide variety of subjects, from travel to landscapes to street scenes. I enjoy documenting the East’s rich cultural heritage and its land soaked in glorious sunrise or sunset light in remote and secluded spots.
