  • icon-date3 DAYS
  • icon-date8 Meals

The tour covers the two highlights of Lao Cai. While Sapa is famous for its trekking
and tribal villages, Y Ty has the best combination of trekking, tribal hills, and
spectacular landscapes with fewer tourists. You will experience small roads
penetrating deep into steep, terraced valleys and climbing high above ferocious rivers
swollen with cold mountain water, and dive into the culture of remote minority
villages. You have got it all in 3 days!

    Day 1: Welcome Sapa! (B, L, D)

Take your time for a good rest and enjoy your delicious breakfast before starting the day since we reach Sapa in the early morning. At around 8:00 AM, our motorbike driver team will meet you at the suggested place and give you quick motorbike safety instructions before starting the epic ride. Today, we will take you to 7 villages including Ma Tra, Ta Phi, Hang Da, and Hau Tha, then drive through small trails toward Lao Chai village, home of the Black H’Mong tribe. Here you will discover their daily life, and see how they made traditional outfits, indigo, and many other kinds of stuff, on the way to Ta Van, we will pass the biggest valley of rice terraced fields in Vietnam. Ta Van village is shared between H’Mong, Giay, and Dao Do tribes. Get back to our homestay where you will stay for the night and have a delicious home-cooked meal.

Day 2: Hello Y Ty- the land of rice terraces and unique hill tribes (B, L, D)

After enjoying your complimentary breakfast, we check out and make our way to Y Ty. If the tour runs on Sunday, we will stop at Muong Hum Market where we will find many ethnic people gathering and trading home-growing vegetables and other stuff picked in the forest. If it is not on a Sunday, we will make our way to Ong Chua waterfall – one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the north, situated in the forest. Arrive at Nhiu Co San Homestay in Y Ty by mid-afternoon, drop your languages, and take a short break before we hit the road again to visit hill tribe villages. There are nearly 800 households in 16 villages shared by Ha Nhi, H’Mong, Dao, and Kinh. The majority of those tribes still live in their traditional houses and retain their traditions and cultures. Our guide will take you to Phan Can Su, Ma Cha Va & Ngai Thau this afternoon. When we reach the Ngai Thau viewpoint, it’s time to admire the spectacular sunset from a high elevation. By dusk, return to the Nhiu Co San homestay where we spend the night.

Day 3: Farewell Y Ty- The last ride- Hanoi (B, L)

Enjoy your last hearty breakfast at the homestay and then pack to head back to Lao Cai city. We will ride along the Vietnam and China border for the beautiful mountainous scenery, passing many other amazing rice terraces of The Pa valley and A Lu. The ride is not finished yet. We then head to A Mu Sung, then Lung Po FlagPole where it marks the Red River entering Vietnam from China. Our ride will be finished in Lao Cai city where our lunch is served and where we head back to Hanoi by bus. The journey ends with memories and great pictures.

Specialties: Culture, landscape, portrait, hiking, active and adventurous tour

Besides my unlimited passion for traveling, a professional tour guide for over a decade, I have been taking photographs since sitting at Hanoi of the University of Culture in the early 2000s. Photography started as a hobby but it was seriously taken due to my work relations and my significant passion for the beauty of our world, especially in Southeast Asian parts such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Within a few years of taking photographs, my works began to be recognized by many reliable international publications such as AFAR Travel, The Times, and The Daily Telegraph newspaper. In addition, I continuously add to my growing profile by winning numerous major awards: 3rd Position of The Independent Photographer 2018, 1st Position of Amateur Photographer of the year 2018, Grand Prize Winner of the AFAR Travel Photography 2019, and a Gold Award of San Francisco Bay International Photography 2020.

I photograph a wide variety of subjects, from travel to landscapes to street scenes. I enjoy documenting the East’s rich cultural heritage and its land soaked in glorious sunrise or sunset light in remote and secluded spots. And, I am very happy to share my knowledge and experience with you. You can visit Luminousvietnamtour to explore tour!
