ITINERARY IN BRIEF:
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi – Touchdown in Hanoi where our team will welcome you at Noi Bai airport. After settling into your hotel, we’ll host an evening meet-and-greet, capped off with a Vietnamese dinner to celebrate the start of our odyssey.
Day 2: Hanoi’s Cultural Gems and Journey to Bac Ha – Post-breakfast, bid farewell to your hotel and set off to discover Hanoi’s storied Temple of Literature and the Museum of Ethnology. Then, a scenic drive leads us to Bac Ha, where you can relax at your hotel after the day’s excursions.
Day 3: Market Day and Trek to Ho Thau – Explore the vibrant hill tribe markets of Can Cau or Bac Ha, then continue to Coc Pai town for lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to trekking through Ban Luoc’s terraced fields before spending the night in Ho Thau.
Day 4: Terraced Vistas and Trekking then Homestay in Nam Ai – From the terraced beauty of Ho Thau, trek to Nam Son and ascend to the welcoming Nam Ai village for an overnight stay with a Black Dzao family.
Day 5: Red Dzao Trails and Nam Hong Homestay – Venture through the trails to Nam Hong village, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way and concluding the day at a Red Dzao family homestay.
Day 6: Hoang Su Phi to Nam Dam Village Trek – Morning hike through ethnic villages and marvel at the rice terraces. Post-lunch, journey to Nam Dam for a village walk and overnight stay.
Day 7: From Nam Dam to Dong Van – Depart Nam Dam for a hillside walk to Can Ty valley. Visit Lung Tam’s hemp weaving cooperative, then drive to Dong Van with stops at Sung La Valley and the Hmong King’s Palace.
Day 8: Dong Van Market and Ma Pi Leng to Ba Be Lake – If it’s Sunday, visit Dong Van Market. Experience Ma Pi Leng’s majesty with a trek and a boat trip on the Nho Que river. End the day with a homestay in Ba Be National Park.
Day 9: Ba Be Lake to Ban Gioc – Witness Ba Be National Park’s beauty with a boat tour and visit Puong Grotto. Head to Ban Gioc, settling into a homestay after the day’s journey.
Day 10: Ban Gioc Waterfall to Bac Son Valley – Discover Ban Gioc Waterfall and Nguom Ngao Cave. Travel to Bac Son for a village homestay, enjoying local hospitality and cuisine.
Day 11: Bac Son to Hanoi Farewell – After breakfast, take a village walk and ascend Na Lay Mountain for sweeping views. Return to Hanoi, with an optional Old Quarter walking tour if time allows.
Day 12: Hanoi Departure – Savor a final breakfast before your departure transfer to Noi Bai International Airport.
Extension Option: Ha Long Bay Discovery
Day 1: Hanoi to Ha Long Bay Cruise – Post-breakfast, depart for Ha Long Bay. Board a cruise, explore the bay’s wonders, and stay overnight on the water.
Day 2: Legendary Ha Long Bay to Hanoi – Morning bay exploration and early lunch before returning to Hanoi

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)
On arrival at Noi Ba airport (Hanoi), our guide & driver will pick you up and then transfer you to the hotel to drop off luggage and get some rest. A shortly orientation meeting will be held in the evening then enjoy a sumptuous Vietnamese welcome Dinner follows with your companions.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halfday City Tour – Bac Ha (B/L)
Enjoy breakfast and proceed to check out from your hotel. The day begins with a visit to the Temple of Literature, the historic seat of learning in Hanoi, dedicated to the scholars and sages of literature. This was the most significant subject of study in the country’s feudal educational system until a century ago. Following this, we explore the Museum of Ethnology which serves both as a repository and a center for research dedicated to the diverse ethnic groups and rich cultural tapestry of Vietnam.
Then, we embark on a 5-hour drive to Bac Ha via the highway with stop break for lunch on the way. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to unwind and relax.

Day 3: Tribal Market (Can Cau Saturday or Bac Ha Sunday) – Hoang Su Phi – Ho Thau (B/L/D)
After breakfast & check out the hotel.
On mornings of Saturday or Sunday, the vibrant hill tribe markets are a must-visit. The markets in Can Cau or Bac Ha burst with color and life. Allot around 1.5 hours to wander and capture stunning photographs. The markets thrum with the vivid attire and cultural displays of the local tribes, particularly the Flower H’mong. Alongside them, various other ethnic groups converge from neighboring villages to trade an array of products and animals, with buffaloes, cows, horses, and more being commonplace.

Post-market exploration, we will journey to Coc Pai town to enjoy a leisurely lunch. The afternoon will be spent driving towards Hoang Su Phi, where a afternoon trek through scenic terraced fields awaits us in Ban Luoc, before proceeding to Ho Thau. There, we will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Ho Thau – Village Trekking – Nam Son – Nam Ai (B/L/D)
Today promises an adventure-packed experience. Kick off the morning with breakfast at your homestay, followed by a trek through the breathtaking terraced landscapes of the Ho Thau region. The vistas are especially striking during the “yellow season” in early October, when the fields take on a golden hue.
In the afternoon, the journey takes us to Nam Son Commune for a challenging ascent to Nam Ai village. Here, we will be welcomed into the warmth of a local Black Dzao family’s home for an overnight stay.
Trekking distance: 18 km / 6-7 hours

Day 5: Nam Ai – Village Trekking – Nam Hong (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we’ll set out on an extensive trek towards Nam Hong village, inhabited by the Red Dzao community. Our path, primarily a dirt trail, will take us gently uphill & downhill, allowing us to take in the serene beauty of the natural surroundings and observe the daily activities of local life. En route, we’ll be treated to the impressive sight of lush terraced fields. For lunch, our porter team will organize a picnic at a villager’s home. We anticipate arriving at our final homestay by around 5 p.m., giving us the opportunity to rest and freshen up before enjoying dinner.

Day 6: Hoang Su Phi – Ha Giang – Nam Dam (B/L/D)
Spend the couple of hour this morning for a hike to visit the hill tribe villages of Tay, Black Dao and Red Dao people. Along the hike you will also have a chance to view more marvelous the rice terraces
After the lunch at the lodge, we check out then depart to Quan Ba, Hà Giang. Have some stops for taking photo and contemplate breath taking landscape of the area. Arrive Nam Dam village, we have a short rest before making a walk around the village. You will have chance to see the local traditional houses made of compacted soil which are cool in the summer and warm in the winter to protect people here from severe weather in the high mountains.

Day 7: Nam Dam – Yen Minh – Dong Van (B/L/D)
Have breakfast at homestay. Then depart from Nam Dam village, you will walk up to the hill at the end of the village to see the spectacular view of the Can Ty valley, with Mien River flowing through the villages of Hmong, Nung, Dzay ethnic groups. Continue to go along the little lane through the terraced fields and woods to come to Lung Tam down the valley. There, you will visit the workshop and showroom of the hemp weaving cooperative to learn about the process of hemp weaving and admire the stunning hemp products. Lung Tam hemp products are unique for many features such as: natural material of hemp trees; no chemical dying; cool, soft fiber; iconic exquisite motifs of decoration representing ethnic H’Mong culture in the highlands; natural materials to produce colours.
After visiting the hemp weaving cooperative, our driver will transfer you to Dong Van with stop en route to visit Sung La Valley & the remnant of Hmong King’s Palace

Day 8: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Hiking – Ba Be Lake (B/L/D)
The day begins with breakfast, and if it’s Sunday, a visit to the vibrant Dong Van Market. This bustling marketplace is a hub for locals from all around to buy and trade goods they don’t produce themselves.
Next, we embark on a drive along the storied Ma Pi Leng pass, pausing to revel in the breathtaking views. The Nho Que river meanders far below, with verdant patches nestled among stark, rugged mountains, and the distant hacksaw ridge shrouded in layers of soft mist.
Our exploration continues with a 5km trek on the Ma Pi Leng Pass, passing through authentic villages and observing locals tending to their fields. The path, marked by an iron rail, leads us to the Panorama I, which boasts exquisite views.

The adventure carries on with a boat trip on the Nho Que river. After a refreshing lunch in Meo Vac Town, we’ll proceed to Ba Be Lake & National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. We’ll check into a homestay within the Tay Tribe community, where you can stroll around the village or enjoy some tranquil leisure time.

Day 9: Ba Be Lake & National Park – Ban Gioc (B/L)
We will visit Ba Be National Park is the epitome of wild and untamed nature. This magic of this area is the rich and diverse landscapes it offers. The park is made up of rich tropical forests centred around a large natural freshwater lake and soaring limestone karsts laced with caves and grottoes. This variation offers fantastic opportunities for exploration from boat trips to kayaking, caving, trekking and cycling.
Then we take a boat tour over the stunning Ba Be lake. Enjoy views of the lake surrounded with karst mountain full of jungle. (Optionally you can go swimming in the lake). The boat will then continue along the Nang River, bringing you to Puong Grotto. An impressive large cave with a river inside, stalactites and stalagmites created by the river erosion, as well as a colony of thousands of bats that lives here.
We leave for Cao Bang then Ban Gioc & arrive at the end of the day. Check-in to our homestay and relax after a long day.

Day 10: Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao Cave – Bac Son Vallley (B/L/D)
Earning the award of the fourth largest waterfall in the world and the largest waterfall in South East Asia, Ban Gioc Waterfall won’t disappoint you. It is likened to the fairy scene between the mountains and the forest with the magnificent and poetic white-water layers. Choose to walk or take a bamboo boat to experience the waterfall at best.
Not far from Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave is located inside a spectacular mountain with a length of 2144m and 3 main gates. Once we get inside the cave, we will surely be overwhelmed by the mysterious and shimmering scenery with the stalactites in various shapes and murmuring streams.
Continue traveling along the frontier’s area to Bac Son of Lang Son Province, , we will be arriving at the Tay ethnic minority village in Bac Son where you will be welcomed by a friendly Tay family in their traditional house. Enjoy a superb dinner with the host and enjoy your peaceful evening there.

Day 11: Bac Son – Hanoi (B)
We’ll begin with a leisurely breakfast before venturing out for a walk through the local village. This will be a wonderful opportunity to observe and engage with the unique traditions and daily routines of the ethnic groups residing in the area. The next part of our day involves an invigorating hike to the peak of Na Lay Mountain. Situated at an elevation of 600 meters, the summit offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding valley, allowing for a truly memorable experience.
Once we’ve taken in the scenery. It’s time to say goodbye. It’s time to get back to our busy life! We’ll make our way back to Hanoi. Time permitting, we’ll conclude our day with an exploratory walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, immersing ourselves in the vibrant history and atmosphere of the city’s ancient streets.

Day 12: Hanoi – Departure (B)
Enjoy your hearty breakfast at the hotel then the driver picks up you and transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for departure to next destination (or home). It’s time to say goodbye, we thank you for traveling with us and warmly welcome you to come again.

Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B/L/D)
Having breakfast & check out of the hotel, then we will head to Halong Bay.

One of the “can’t miss” destinations when visiting Vietnam is Ha Long Bay the wonder of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, get on a cruise ship to start the journey around Ha Long Bay. It is no need to describe how amazing it is to see the spectacular landscapes with approximately 1600 limestone islands scattering the emerald green water surface and numerous natural caves. You will immerse yourself in nature by floating in the middle of the sea with a kayaking adventure. After kayaking, watch the sunset. I am sure being there at that magical hour will be a memorable experience for your trip. There will be drinks at the desk or interesting activities such as fishing with local people in the evening. Overnight on boat.

Day 2: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (B/Br)
In the morning, your breakfast will be served while floating on the sea to explore the beauty of Halong Bay before disembarking time. Joining some more activities on boat and then checking out cabin. The early lunch will be served before getting back to the main dock at noon. Then we drive back to Hanoi
