Lung Cu flag tower is a place to attract visitors to check in when coming to the Ha Giang loop tour. About Lung Cu flag tower

The Lung Cu flag tower was first built under the Ly Thuong Kiet period and was previously mainly made of a Cunningham tree. The flag tower was rebuilt during the French colonial period in 1887. Especially in 2002, the Lung Cu flag tower was continuously repaired with an increased scale over time. In the same year, the height of the flagpole was up to about 20m. The pedestal and foot of the column had an octagonal shape and under the pedestal were 6 reliefs with patterns of Dong Son bronze drums in Vietnam. On the top of the pole hangs the national flag of Vietnam with a length of 9m, a width of 6m. An area of ​​about 54m2, symbolizing 54 ethnic groups living in the territory of Vietnam.

The Lung Cu flagpole is located on the top of Lung Cu with a height of about 1,700m above sea level. This is a point about 3km from the northernmost point of Vietnam in a straight line. Lung Cu is the peak of this hat and also the highest point of the North Pole of Vietnam.

How to get to the flag tower?

To get to the Lung Cu flag tower, at the parking spot halfway up Dragon Mountain, visitors will climb 389 stone steps. To conquer 140 spiral stairs inside the flagpole, visitors will reach the foot of the flag tower. Here, visitors can admire the majestic natural scenery of the Dong Van Karst Plateau, terraced fields and ethnic villages. Looking down at the foot of Dragon Mountain are two large lakes called Dragon’s Eye which are located symmetrically on the two sides of the mountain.
