When people think of Hoi An City, they often picture the old town with its ancient houses, lanterns, and yellow-colored streets. However, few are aware that Hoi An also harbors a hidden gem—the “Southwest” within the city itself. Here, the Bay Mau coconut forests run alongside the river, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city.

The coconut forest is a well-known destination in Hoi An City. Nestled in the sunny and breezy Central region, this green coconut forest offers a delightful Western-style experience with beautiful nature and exciting activities that are suitable for solo, group, family, or couple travel trip types.

During your visit, you can embark on a basket boat ride to glide through the serene coconut forest. Notably, the Bay Mau coconut forest served as a base during a significant period of resistance for our army and people.

Opening time and best time to visit the Bay Mau Coconut Forest

Bay Mau coconut forest welcomes visitors from 7 am to 5 pm. With this ample opening time, you can freely enjoy and explore the forest. We recommend visiting in the afternoon to experience the coconut forest fully before making a stop at Hoi An ancient town.

If you visit the Bay Mau coconut forest in August or September, you will witness the magnificent beauty of the coconut forest while savoring delightful sesame-salted coconut rice. Throughout the year, you can still visit the coconut grove, but be sure to check the weather forecast, particularly in October and November, to avoid storms.
